Here is a little bit of info on Steve, me and all of our critters. First, a bit about US. I grew up in Mississippi, moved to Dallas after graduating from college and had a blast working in the fashion industry and then the pet industry. About 12-13 years ago, I took a position in St. Paul as an apprentice graphic designer. So, I moved lock, stock and packed-full barrel up 35N to Minnesota.

Literally a week after I moved to St. Paul I met Steve and that was that! I was smitten. I wanted to get married on the second date, he wanted to wait...and wait...and wait, so we finally got married in 2001 (five years after we met). Right after we got married Steve decided he wanted to buy a fishing resort and here we are! For almost twenty years I bred and showed purebred dogs Chinese Shar-Peis and then French Bulldogs). Over time I bred many Number One dogs, Top Ten French Bulldogs, Best in Show winners and more under the Jackpot! French Bulldog kennel name. But over the course of the last couple of years I have just lost the "fire in my belly" for competition, so the Frenchies are our pets now, with no job to do but entertain us all.

We also have our Newfoundland, Deuce, who yous ee on the header and Zoe, our Great Pyrenees. Deuce was supposed to be our lifeguard type dog, but he isn't that into swimming. Zoe was supposed to be an awesome alpaca guardian for the alpacas, but she dug out after 30 seconds and let us know that she wants to be a resort dog. And of course, there is Nyker, the mini-horse who is our #1 apple eater. We will warn you, Zoe steals food, so unpack your groceries quickly!

Steve had a small contracting business in St. Paul, so he is PERFECT for this business. Steve grew up as a "Navy Brat" so he lived all over the US, but the Vitcaks settled down in St.Paul before he started school, so he is for all intents and purposes a true "Minnesotan."

I now have my own life coaching business (www.yoursoulcoach.com), graphic design business and am actively involved in several more exciting projects. I will be sharing more on all that fun stuff soon.

Many of you know that we have added alpacas to the list of creatures we love and nurture here at Dancing Bear Resort. Click here to visit our alpaca site, they have been a blast! And yes, they DO spit, but not very much a nd not usually AT any of us. They are much smaller than llamas and their fiber is absolutely luscious. We had two new baby alpacas (called crias) this past year and are expecting four babies in 2008. Way to go, DC...you are d'man.

We have truly loved getting to know our guests and now consider many of you our extended family. We look forward to increasing our "resort family" even more, call and book your vacation TODAY.
